F35 JSF





JSF 35 is a multirole fighter for the air-to-ground role with secondary air-to-air capability. It being designed to replace existing aircraft such ad F16,A10 and even F18. It main mission will include close air support, tactical bombing, and air defense missions


Basically there are 3 designs to fulfill 3 major services of US military; USAF, Navy and Marine Corps@ UK Royal & Air Force.

The designs are:

i)conventional take off and landing (CTOL) variant.
ii)F-35B, short-take off and vertical-landing (STOVL) variant.
iii)F-35C, carrier-based CATOBAR (CV) variant.

F35 is a fifth generation fitted the current edge of tech.




For STOVL capability, F35 used Rolls-Royce/Allison shaft-driven lift-fan, roll ducts and a three-bearing swivel main engine nozzle, which being powered by modified Pratt & Whitney F119 engine.

The range F35 STOVL is 1,670 km with its combat radius is 910km.

Its has 6 external hardpoints on its wings and 2 × internal bays with 2 pylons each.

Meanwhile the capabilities of the radar, AN/APG-81 has air-to-air modes with advanced air-to-ground modes(high resolution mapping, multiple ground moving target detection and track, combat identification, electronic warfare). The radar it-self is a successor radar to the F-22's AN/APG-77 now.
